A student-oriented apartment complex has been sold for the second time in less than three years.
According to county real estate documents, Pierce Education Properties, a San Diego-based real estate firm, bought The View at 301 W. Charleston St. earlier this month for just less than $12.65 million.
The complex had been owned since February 2015 by a limited partnership affiliated with Starwood Capital Partners, which had paid $13.3 million for it.
The 156-unit complex opened in 2003 as Sterling University Stadium View Collegiate Residences. It was thought at the time to be the first complex in the city to offer individual leases on multi-bedroom units, something that is common in student-oriented projects today.
The complex was sold in 2005 to GMH Communities, then in 2008 to American Campus Communities.
