Job Title : Shuttle Driver

Reports to : Community Manager

Job Summary

The Shuttle Driver’s primary responsibility is to drive the Property Shuttle over an established route to deliver residents to and from the property and Campus. The shuttle driver is the representative of resident transportation and therefore an upbeat attitude and excellent customer service skills are a must. With resident safety in mind, the Shuttle Driver will act accordingly and obey all federal, state, and local laws and guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safely operate property shuttle to transport passengers on a scheduled route to/ from college/university campus, the property, and off-campus locations.

  • Perform daily inspection of shuttle and complete daily preventative maintenance as required; Promptly report maintenance issues

  • Ensure the shuttle has adequate fuel daily and fill gas tank as needed

  • Assist passengers on and off vehicle/shuttle, ensuring safety

  • Keep record of passenger numbers and/or logbook as required

  • Enforce federal, state and college/university guidelines for shuttle/bus riders

  • Perform other duties as assigned

          

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age

  • Must have a clean driving record and ability to meet federal and state driving standards.

  • Current CDL- A license and minimum 3 years driving experience required

  • Valid Class B commercial driver's license with a 24 plus passenger endorsement

  • Must be able to meet DMV vision requirements

  • Ability to meet attendance and route schedule

  • Ability to speak and read English.

  • Good verbal/written communication skills and ability to read traffic signs

  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.

  • Must be in physical condition to sit for extended periods, bend, reach, climb stairs, and grasp

Physical Activity

  • Position requires ability to transport or move up to 50 pounds variable distances; the mobility and flexibility to use ladders; the ability to work outdoors in temperatures exceeding 90 degrees or below 32 degrees Fahrenheit and the ability to personally perform general maintenance repair tasks without endangering themselves, residents or fellow employees.

  • Position also requires frequent bending and/or stooping to access equipment and machinery necessary when assisting with or performing tasks
